La Pedrera

La Pedrera, also known by its real name Casa Mila, is one of the numerous buildings and features of Barcelona which were designed by Antoni Gaudi. When it was first constructed, the locals were unappreciative of its unorthodox chimneys (the photos below are all of the chimney structures), and nicknamed it la Pedrera - 'the Quarry' - and the name stuck.

Although la Pedrera lends itself well to photographs such as these, there are many other impressive Gaudi works in Barcelona. Most notable of these is the incredible Sagrada Familia cathedral which has been under construction for over a century. If you get the chance, go and see it - you'll probably never see another cathedral being built, and there will never be another cathedral anything like the Sagrada Familia.

All the images were taken with a Ricoh GR1 on Fuji Provia 100, and have since been colorized in Paint Shop Pro.
