On-One Geared Inbred

On-One Inbred

On-One Inbred

This seems to have ended up as a rather unusual build, but I like it.

After a couple of years with a set of Psylo SLs on the front, it's now sporting some P2 jump forks, because frankly I just prefer rigid forks these days. You'll note the frame is absurdly small for someone of my height, well, it suits me perfectly: it's big enough to be able to climb on, yet when I shove the seat down (and I've drilled out the bottle bosses so I can get it right in) the bike's thoroughly chuckable and I can move around on it quickly.

The brakes are 185mm discs (Avid mechanicals of course, the finest disc brake there is) because riding fast over rocks on a rigid bike destroys your hands and forearms anyway - so powerful brakes are a real bonus. The tyres are Tioga 2.3s, that's plenty of cushioning. The chainset is a double with a bashring - the forks drop the frame a bit, so this helps with clearance and adds to its 'big rock' capability. And the rest of the drivetrain is pretty much road kit - a short mech to keep the chain tight, and a close ratio block (it's a 12-25 HG70 with the 14T sprocket removed and an 11T added) to allow the short mech.

It's pretty much spot on for what I want to use it for now - which means it'll handle stuff that's as technical as I can ride.
