The Pyrénées
The Pyrénées get fantastically hot in summer, and there are some stunning views tucked away if you hunt them out. The same goes for the trails - if you're hunting randomly for them, you're more likely to hit dead ends than in the Alps, but if you know where you're going, the trails pay back in spades.
